Peer Helpers

PeerHelpers

Club Description:
The Peer Helpers program trains students in how to better help their peers. Peer Helpers gain life skills through training in the eight communication skills and through practicing these skills in mock situations. In addition, Peer Helpers study problem-solving techniques, decision-making strategies, and basic concepts of human behavior as they relate to peer tutoring, mentoring, and conflict resolution. After nine weeks of training, students are assigned to work as tutors, mediators, or mentors.  Special thanks goes to the support of the Jennifer Claire Moore Foundation.  Without their help, many of the opportunities would not be possible.

The Jennifer Claire Moore Foundation supports the Peer Helper programs in Baldwin County, which is a local United Way agency. To learn more the foundation, visit www.jennifermoorefoundation.com. To learn more about the NAPPP, visit http://www.peerprogramprofessionals.org.
